#Gamecocks Kingston reviews lost weekend deep in the heart of Texas (AUDIO)

The much anticipated three game showdown in Austin between USC and Texas ended dismally for the Gamecocks on Sunday afternoon with an 8-5 loss which gave the Longhorns a sweep of the series. The Gamecocks fall to 11-3 with their third straight loss while the Longhorns improve to 11-5.

Wes Clarke tied the game at 2-2 in the top of the 3rd with his 9th home run of the season. But Texas scored 2 runs in the third and 4 in the 4th for an 8-2 lead. The Gamecocks scored once in the 5th and twice in the 9th. They got the tying run to the plate in the 9th but a fielder’s choice ended the game.

The Gamecocks had 10 hits and drew 5 walks but stranded 13 baserunners. They also committed three errors that led to two unearned runs.

Julian Bosnic started and took the loss for the Gamecocks. He allowed 4 earned runs and 4 hits. He walked 4 and struck out 3. Braylen Wimmer had a career high 4 hits.

The Gamecocks return home to face Davidson Tuesday night at Founders Park.
