
The #2 seed USC women dispatched Alabama 75-63 Friday night in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament in Greenville. Zia Cooke led the Gamecocks to their third win of the season over the Crimson Tide with 22 points. Aliyah Boston added 16 points and 13 rebounds.
USC owned a 27 point lead in the second quarter but most of that fizzled away as Alabama drew to within 66-59 with 5:07 to play. The Gamecocks responded with five quick points on a three-pointer by Destanni Henderson and a deuce by Cooke.
The 7th ranked Gamecocks will face #3 seed Tennessee Saturday in the semi-finals with tip-off set for 6:30 PM. Top-seed Texas A&M will face #4 Georgia in the other semi.
