The ACC Thursday morning had its great unveil of its 2021 football schedule. Clemson could not have asked for more from a league standpoint. There is no North Carolina.. There is no Miami. And of course, there is no Notre Dame. The Tigers will play Pitt and Georgia Tech from the Coastal Division, and their six rivals from the Atlantic Division. That means they will face just three ACC opponents with a winning record from last season.
The combined record from 2020 for Clemson’s 2021 opponents was 37-57. Two teams, SC State and Connecticut, did not play in the fall, though State is going to play this spring.
The Tigers will open the season September 4th in Charlotte against Georgia in a game that will match two of the top four teams in the country. Their home opener will be the next weekend against SC State. And the ACC opener will be at home September 18th against Georgia Tech. There is a Friday night game on the schedule, October 15th at Syracuse. Connecticut at home November 13th and the regular season finale at USC November 27th are the other opponents.
