Beating Vanderbilt last week to end a five game losing streak was nice for USC and its fans. It gave the Gamecocks a break from the doldrums of losing and hope for this week’s game against Auburn in which they are only a three point underdog. This schedule is packed with great opportunities for Will Muschamp’s program. The Gamecocks whiffed on the first two, Tennessee and Florida, so Auburn gives then another shot against a nationally ranked team with a heritage of success. Auburn is 2-1 with wins over Kentucky and Arkansas and a loss at Georgia. USC hasn’t defeated Auburn since 1933 and the Tigers will bring an eight game winning streak in the series into Saturday’s Noon kick. Earlier this week several Gamecock players talked with the media via Zoom about the Vandy win and what they expect from Auburn.
