Trips to Atlanta to play Georgia Tech always have been special for Clemson. It’s an easy ride for the fanbase, and the Tigers have a lot of fans in Georgia’s capital city. The first 36 games in the series were played in Atlanta. There have been some big games there over the years but two in particular ride high in Clemson history. In 2008, Dabo Swinney made his debut as Clemson’s head coach in Atlanta. And two years ago, Swinney made the call to switch to Trevor Lawrence at quarterback early in the second quarter replacing starter Kelly Bryant. Lawrence has been the starter ever since, and Clemson has lost just once since the change. This has been one of the tighter ACC series for Clemson though the Tigers have won the last five meetings. They are favored by 27 points to win Saturday’s Noon kickoff. Earlier this week several players met with the medai via Zoom to recap the Miami win and look ahead to Georgia Tech.
