The spots in USC’s 2019 football recruiting class are now sold out with the signing this afternoon of CB Jammie Robinson (5-11 180) of Leesburg, GA. Robinson join 23 new signees and two previous signees who are being counted with this class to give Will Muschamp a full band of 25 recruits.
Robinson reduced his list to USC, Kentucky, Auburn and Tennessee and took official visits to all four. His USC visit was last June and that put the Gamecocks in a position of strength with him throughout the recruiting and football seasons. He made several other visits to USC and said during the process that the early playing opportunities were big with him.
“I’ve got an advantage by playing early and and possibly starting as a freshman at safety or nickel,” Robinson said. “They tell me they need me.”
Robinson played safety at Lee County but according to his coach Dean Fabrizio he really excels at corner and in man coverage.
“He’s a very physical player with great coverage ability,” Fabrizio said. “His closing skills are off the charts. And he’s a good a kickoff returner as I’ve been around.”
Robinson gives the Gamecocks four cornerbacks in their class.
