Northwestern wins the 5A-D1 State Championship

Postgame Notes

Seventh championship for Northwestern, first time in school history to win consecutive titles
Trojans led 14-6 after a quarter, then outscored Irmo 35-0 in the second quarter
Trojans led 49-6 at the half, and by rule, that means a running clock in the second half
Northwestern quarterback Xaveir Means passed for 188 yards and two touchdowns, and rushed for 60 yards and four touchdowns
Nigel Smith rushed for 104 yards for Northwestern
David Flood and Kamerson Vance each caught a touchdown pass for Northwestern
Irmo quarterback Dre’Von Dopson threw for 124 yards and a touchdown but was intercepted twice
Irmo running back Amire White rushed for 102 yards
