STRecruiting Notebook 3-20: More official visits on the books for USC; Gamecocks’ search for another OL continues; Prospects on the road

DE Anthony Sweeney of Olney, MD visited South Carolina on Thursday, a trip that had been previously scheduled. He’s expected back for an official visit. He’s also been to Alabama this spring and will visit Tennessee this weekend. He also has spring visits coming up with Auburn, LSU and Maryland in March, and Texas Tech, Ole Miss and Texas A&M in April. He has official visits set with Alabama and Texas A&M.

DE Chris Whitehead of Chesterfield, VA has set an official visit with South Carolina for June 12th. He has Virginia Tech down for May 29th. He’s a national level recruit from an offer standpoint.

QB DJ Hunter of Buford, GA has set an official visit with South Carolina for May 1st. He has an unofficial visit with the Gamecocks coming up on March 28th.

TE Judah Lancaster of Brentwood, TN has South Carolina down for an official visit on May 1st. He also visited earlier this month. He was just offered by Vanderbilt.

Per JC Shurburtt of Inside the Gamecocks, USC will pass on signing free agent OT David Nduwke of Houston. He was in for an official visit earlier in the week.

DE Marvin Nguestop was reoffered by South Carolina while on his visit Wednesday. He has also been to Kentucky, Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State and Georgia. Coming up he has visits planned with Ole Miss, Tennessee and UCLA. He has an official visit set with Michigan State on May 29th.

South Carolina target WR DJ Huggins of Kennesaw, GA visited Georgia on Thursday. He’s also been to Alabama this month. He is going back to Georgia on the 28th, and he has Arkansas and Georgia scheduled for April visits. He has official visits set with Georgia June 5th and USC June 19th.

South Carolina target LB AJ Randle was offered by Texas Tech. He has an unofficial visit with USC set for April 8th and an official visit on May 1st.

South Carolina target OT Stafford Willis was offered by Arkansas. He visited USC on March 6th.

Northwestern WR Malik Ratliff (6-1 175) planned to visit USC on Thursday. He has offers from North Carolina, Furman, Citadel, Liberty, Appalachian State, East Carolina, Navy, Marshall and others. Last season at South Pointe, he had over 30 catches for 730 yards and 10 touchdowns.

OT Clayton Lee (6-7 315) of Callahan, FL visited South Carolina on Wednesday. He was offered by the Gamecocks in February. He also visited Virginia Tech this week and was offered. Some of his other offers are Wake Forest, Rutgers, Louisville, North Carolina, UCF, Illinois, Arkansas, USF, Pitt and others.

Northwood Academy QB Kevin Johnson (6-2 205) visited South Carolina Wednesday. Last season he passed for 2500 yards and 24 touchdowns.

DE William Bromilow (6-6 235) of Vancouver visited South Carolina and Clemson on Wednesday. He’s also made stops to Tennessee and Michigan State.

2028 QB Jabraylan Patterson of Statesville, NC visited South Carolina on Wednesday.

2028 ATH (WR/CB) Brayden Bailey (5-11 160), the son of former Georgia and NFL star Champ Bailey, visited South Carolina Wednesday and was offered.

2028 OC Carl Noisette (6-3 275) of Gainesville, GA plans to visit South Carolina on Saturday.

Clemson target CB Jayden Aparicio-Bailey visited Ole Miss on Tuesday.

Clemson target TE Grant Haviland planned to visit Vanderbilt on Thursday.

Clemson target PK Moses Barker visited Arkansas and Duke this week. He was at Clemson earlier this month.

Midland Valley QB/ATH Xavier Geter will visit Coastal Carolina March 24th and Clemson March 28th.

RB Carter Wallace (6-2 204) of Jonesboro, AR plans to return to Clemson for the spring game. He also visited for a junior day at the end of January. He visited Duke on Thursday.

2028 WR Jordan Gorham of Timberland was offered by Arkansas.

2029 WR Corey Miller of Dutch Fork was offered by Arkansas.

South Carolina signee Marcus Johnson is Ohio Mr. Basketball for second straight season

College of Charleston center Chol Machot is leaving.

Charleston Southern guard A’lahn Sumler is transferring.

College of Charleston guard Mister Dean will become a free agent for a second straight offseason after playing at Upstate two seasons ago his agent told TheFieldof 68. ieldof68. The 6-6 guard averaged 10.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists his season in three games before suffering a torn ACL.

Wofford guard Nils Machowski plans to enter the free agent market per 247Sports.
