- Clemson and Florida State started a combined 4-19 from the field, sluggishly opening the action on offense.
- Trailing 17-11, the Tigers engineered a 10-0 run through their reserves to claim their first lead of the game at the 6:08 mark of the first half.
- Ace Buckner led all scorers with 13 points in the first half, knocking down three deep shots from beyond the arc in under two minutes.
- Florida State shot 44 percent from the floor in the first half, nailing six of its 15 attempts from deep.
- Clemson shot 40.7 percent from the field, knocking down six of its 14 attempts from beyond the arc in the first 20 minutes of action.
- Trailing 55-47, Clemson engineered a 9-0 run to reclaim the lead late in the second half. Butta Johnson hit back-to-back three-pointers, and Dillon Hunter tied the ball game at 55 with a nice cut inside for two.
- Clemson reclaimed the lead at multiple junctures in the second half, but Florida State’s Robert McCray V, a product of AC Flora, seemingly had all the answers. McCray, who averaged 15.2 points per game heading into this afternoon, finished with 29 points against the Tigers.
- Clemson missed its final six shots in the failed comeback attempt, and Florida State finished the game with a 7-0 run generated totally by McCray.
