In the middle of transfer portaling, USC has landed a high school commitment with a familiar name. Dutch Fork wide receiver Stone Furrey (5-10, 180), the son of USC receivers coach Mike Furrey, announced on his Instagram on Wednesday that he will be joining the Gamecock program this season.
Furrey decided to join the Gamecocks after receiving offers from Gardner-Webb, Murray State, East Tennessee State, Davidson, Eastern Kentucky, Michigan, and Miami of Ohio
Furrey moved to the Midlands from Gaffney when his father took the job with Gamecocks in 2024. He had been the head coach at Limestone College.
Furrey played at Chapin his junior year and won a state title in 2025 with Dutch Fork.
At Chapin, he caught 55 passes for 673 yards and six touchdowns. This year, he was second on the team with 38 receptions and led the Silver Foxes with 688 yards and five touchdowns.
Furrey was also selected to the Touchstone Energy Bowl all-star game and was one of the top performers with five catches for 48 yards and a touchdown.
A player with head coaching experience. You don’t see that often!
