Clemson defensive coordinator Tom Allen fielded questions from the media, Tuesday, as the Tigers attempt to put the sting of 35-24 loss to SMU behind them.
Allen addressed the criticism of his unit directly, detailing the “catastrophic breakdowns” that yielded 65 yards on two perimeter rushes in the third quarter and the miscommunications that led to a pair of third-down conversions on SMU’s final scoring drive.
“You can do a lot of great things,” Allen said, “but if you don’t execute at the crucial times, it’s going to cost you.”
Clemson (3-4, 2-3) will enjoy an open date before playing host to Duke on Nov. 1st.
