STRecruiting: Irmo OT Nate Carson visited Florida State Saturday and got an earful of good stuff from the Seminoles

Two of South Carolina’s finest in the 2027 class, OT Nate Carson and DE Jaiden Bryant of Irmo, were in Tallahassee Saturday night to watch the showdown between Florida State and Miami. Both have offers from the Seminoles and are high up on the board there.

“It was great.  The atmosphere from amazing.  The love from the fans was great,” Carson said Sunday night.  “The love from the coaches, you can tell that they really want me.  They tell me that I’m mandatory.  They want me bad.  They are willing to do anything to get me.  That’s what they’re telling me.  That’s what I’m getting out of it from talking to multiple coaches.”

Carson has also been to games this season at South Carolina, Clemson, Georgia and Tennessee. He will take this weekend off, then he will go to Alabama the following weekend for the big game with Tennessee.

Carson plans to return to USC for the Alabama and Clemson games. He talked last week with offensive line coach Lonnie Teasley and on Sunday with head coach Shane Beamer. Their message remains the same as it has been from the start.

“It’s home.  I’m getting that every single time,” Carson said.  “It’s home.  It’s right down the street.  My family is here.  Come down to every game.  Everything is here in Columbia, South Carolina.  That’s what I’m hearing.”

Carson said the Gamecocks continue to recruit him for both offensive tackle and defensive end, and he’s open to playing either spot.

Carson said he has not heard much from Clemson since his early-season visit there and doesn’t consider the Tigers as one of his true options at this point. Other schools he is hearing a lot from but has yet to visit are Alabama, Florida, Ohio State, Oregon and Auburn. Maryland is his most recent offer coming in on September 30th.
