Not long after quarterback Landon Duckworth announced a commitment to South Carolina, Gamecock coach Shane Beamer took to his X account and let his followers know that he had just received another pledge.
The next Gamecock target scheduled to make a commitment announcement is CB Kosci Barnes of Greensboro, NC on July 26th. In late June he named a final six of USC, North Carolina, Rutgers, Miami, Kentucky and Mississippi State. 247Sports projection is for the Gamecocks while projections by On3 writers points to Rutgers.
The other Gamecock target with a commitment date on the books is RB Amari Thomas of Blountstown, FL. He decommitted from Florida State Friday, and not long after, On3 writers Chad Simmons and Steve Wiltfong published projections to the Gamecocks.
SAF Tylan Wilson of Pascagoula, MS, who was a Clemson target at one point this year, committed to Texas A&M.
2027 6-6 K’majay Jenkins, formerly of Westside, now at Moravian Prep in NC, picked up offers from Charlotte and Virginia Tech. South Carolina and Clemson have also offered.
Former Texas LHP Bryce Navarre committed to South Carolina. He was originally committed to Texas A&M out of high school. As a freshman at Texas last season, he made six appearances and worked 6.2 innings with an ERA of 8.10.
Clemson signee SS Dax Kilby is signing with the Yankees who drafted him with the 39th pick. He’s one of three Clemson recruits who were drafted.
