STRecruiting: Clemson strikes again in Georgia with a commitment from 2027 QB Kharim Hughley

Clemson football has had pretty good success with quarterbacks from the state of Georgia. Deshaun Watson and Trevor Lawrence immediately come to mind. So the Tigers have gone back to one of their favorite spots to land another quarterback commitment. 2027 QB Kahrim Hughley (5-11, 190) from Gainesville High School announced his Clemson pledge via social media on Thursday.

In his sophomore season, Hughley had 2,543 yards passing for 22 touchdowns and two interceptions and rushed for 108 yards for three touchdowns, according to MaxPreps. He helped his Gainesville team post a 7-4 record to make the state playoffs. Gainesville High School is the same program that developed Watson from his freshman season into one of the most prolific passers in Georgia high school history.

Hughley is the second “Peach State” player to commit to the Tigers for the ’27 class. He joins Max Brown, who is the younger brother of Clemson linebacker Sammy Brown, as the first members of the 2027 class.
