STRecruiting Notebook 6-17: Clemson DE target set to announce; Two schools lead for Blair with last trip looming

Clemson target DE Dre Quinn will announce Thursday with Notre Dame, Tennessee, Georgia Tech and Texas the other finalists. Quinn, a native of Norcross, GA, but who is transferring to Buford High in Georgia, made official visits to all of his finalists except for Notre Dame. That visit was scheduled for this coming weekend. He did made an unofficial visit to South Bend in early April. Quinn also visited Clemson for a junior day in March and for a game last November. In 11 games last season, Quinn totaled 42 tackles with 9.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks according to MaxPreps stats.

OT Kamari Blair of Clarksville, TN took an official visit to Ole Miss last weekend, and he is scheduled to visit Tennessee Thursday through Saturday. He is then leaving for a two week vacation to England when he won’t spend much time on recruiting. Monday night, Blair gave an update on his favorites. “Probably is Ole Miss and South Carolina,” Blair said. About Ole Miss, he added, “I just really liked their offensive scheme.” Blair said he was getting close on a decision, but he’s not so sure now. “I was pretty close, but a couple of people were telling me that I should just chill out for a little bit.  It could be anytime, really.”  Blair said he talks almost daily with USC offensive line coach Lonnie Teasley, and the two did talk Monday night.

Timberland OT Desmond Green may be ready to make his commitment announcement on June 26th. Green has cut off communication with the media while going through his recruiting. He has taken official visits to Virginia Tech, Georgia, Oklahoma and Florida. He is scheduled for South Carolina this weekend.

Clemson target Ekene Ogboko (6-6 295) of Garner, NC told ON3 he will announce his commitment on Wednesday. His final four are Clemson, Georgia, Florida and Notre Dame. He took official visits to Clemson, Georgia and Florida, and was scheduled for an official visit to Notre Dame this weekend. His brother plays at Georgia. Clemson has six offensive linemen committed.

South Carolina commitment CB KJ Johnson of Birmingham canceled his official visit to Ole Miss for this weekend.

Indian Land WR Sequel Patterson told On3 his top three schools are South Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia. Patterson reclassified from 2027 to 2026 in early June.

Clemson offered 2027 TE Grant Haviland (6-5 225) of Alpharetta, GA. He also has offers from South Carolina, Ole Miss, Southern Cal, Virginia, Ohio State, Arizona State, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Wake Forest, Purdue, Michigan, Alabama, Georgia, NC State, Miami, Florida State and others.

Clemson offered 2027 TE Jaxon Dollar (6-5 222) of Denver, NC. He also has offers from South Carolina, Boston College, Georgia, Arkansas, SMU, Ohio State, Miami, Florida, Tennessee, Auburn and others.

South Carolina offered 2027 6-6 Kmajay Jenkins, formerly of Westside and now at Moravian Prep in NC. Jenkins also has offers from Clemson and Oklahoma State.

South Carolina LHP Jarvis Evans is transferring. Evans spent one season at USC after transferring from Georgia. This season he started nine games and made 13 appearances. He was 4-2 with a 5.89 ERA.

RHP Carson Bryant is transferring from Georgia Southern to the College of Charleston. In 11 games last season he was 2-1 with a 6.48 ERA.
