CCU will have to deal with a unique 37-foot-high wall in left field at Plainsman Park (Coastal Baseball X)

Auburn, AL: Coastal Carolina baseball has traveled to the “Loveliest Village on the Plains” for a fantastic matchup in the NCAA baseball Super Regionals. The 13th-seeded Chanticleers will take on the #4-seed Auburn in the best-of-three series, which begins Friday at Plainsman Park. The Chanticleers breezed through the Conway Regional last weekend, while the Tigers swept through their own regional to earn an opportunity to host their first Super Regional in program history.

The weekend is such a big deal on campus that they’ve had to create more seats for Tiger fans.

Auburn Deputy AD Rhett Hobart announced on Thursday via social media that the school is adding additional seating atop the Josh Donaldson hitting lab beyond the right field wall for the Super Regionals. Hobart says that the seating will be another “general admission” section of Plainsman Park, joining the Tiger Terrace, Plainsman Patio, and War Eagle Wall.

No construction hard hats were needed as the two teams practiced at Plainsman Park in preparation for tomorrow night’s first game, which is scheduled to begin at 8pm CT. The series will continue Saturday at 2pm CT. If a third game is needed, it will be played on Sunday.
