South Carolina gets back on the winning track rallying for 7-3 victory over Davidson at Founders Park (AUDIO)

Henry Kaczmar cranked his first homer as a Gamecock in the win over Davidson (Gamecock Athletics)

RAY TANNER FIELD AT FOUNDERS PARK: South Carolina broke its three-game losing streak Tuesday night with a come from behind 7-3 win over Davidson at Founders Park in Columbia. The Gamecocks trailed 3-0 after a three-run homer by Jack Cotrone in the top of the second, then scored the next seven runs to snag the win.

Henry Kaczmar started the rally with a solo homer in the third. The Gamecocks still trailed 3-1 in the bottom of the sixth when they put together a five-run surge to take the lead.

Back-to-back singles and a throwing error on a sacrifice bunt loaded the bases with no outs. Kaczmar then drew a walk for his second RBI of the night. Nathan Hall followed with a two-run single up the middle to give USC its first lead at 4-3.

After Kaczmar was thrown out at home trying to score on a ground ball to third, Ethan Petry laced a double to center field to score the fourth run of the inning. A sac fly by Jase Woita closed out the rally and the Gamecocks led 6-3.

Woita also delivered the seventh run the hard way as he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded for a 7-3 lead in the bottom of the seventh.

After Ryder Garino allowed the three-run homer, four Gamecock relievers pitched no-hit ball over the final six innings. For the game, the Gamecock staff recorded 13 strikeouts. They did walk five and hit two others.

Tyler Pitzer (2-0) earned the win as the Gamecocks improved to 10-3. They will play Wednesday night at The Citadel with Jarvis Evans going to the mound.

Coach Paul Mainieri said after the game outfielder Dalton Mashore had an MRI on his hip Tuesday night and his availability is unknown. He is hopeful that Kennedy Jones and Talmadge LeCroy are able to go this weekend.
