#Clemson runs ACC record to 3-0 with 85-71 win over Stanford Wednesday afternoon at Littlejohn Coliseum (AUDIO)

LITTLEJOHN COLISEUM: Clemson posted its 11th win of the season Wednesday with an 85-71 win over the Stanford Cardinal. The Tigers outscored the Cardinal 42-30 in the second half after struggling to take control in the first half.

Stanford jumped in front 25-17 with ten minutes left in the first half, but the Tigers clawed back to tie the game after a 10-2 run. It was tight the rest of the half and Clemson led 43-41 at the break.

The second half quickly resumed the back-and-forth action, but Clemson jumped out to a ten-point lead with eleven minutes left in the game and wasn’t really threatened after that. The Tigers went on a 19-5 run in building their cushion. The closest the Cardinal got the rest of the way was nine points.

Clemson guard Chase Hunter led all scorers with 22 points making 7-15 field goals including two three-pointers. Jaeden Zackery added 16 points and led the Tigers with five assists and four steals.

Chauncey Wiggins also had a big game with a season-high 17 points making 6-11 from the floor and 4-5 from the line.

Clemson center Viktor Lakh added 11 points, seven rebounds, five blocks and three steals. Lahkin had one of his best games of the season on both sides of the ball

The Tigers (11-3, 3-0 ACC) got to the free throw line easily compared to the Cardinal, attemting 24 free throws to 12 for the visitors. Hunter was a perfect 6-6 from the stripe.

The Tigers forced 17 turnovers they converted to 25 points. They had 16 steals and outscored Stanford 12-0 on frastbreaks.

Clemson impmroved to 8-1 this season at Littlejohn and will be back at home Saturlday night when they host California for an 8:30 PM tip.
