South Carolina landed two big name transfers Monday in QB Air Noland and LB Shawn Murphy from Ohio State and Florida State respectively. Here on Christmas Eve, the Gamecocks are hopeful of more presents dropping out of the Portal in the form of commitments.
The strongest possibility remains OG Rodney Newsom of Western Kentucky who visited last week. He did not not take any other visits after entering the Portal. RB Justice Haynes of Alabama is deciding between USC and Michigan. And CB Myles Norwood of Ball State is down to USC and Kentucky with a Christmas Day announcement planned.
USC target Florida transfer DE TJ Searcy is transferring to Texas A&M.
USC is among the top 10 schools with 2026 WR Somdurian Wingo (6-2 175) of Saint Augustine, FL. The others are Florida, Miami, UCF, USF, LSU, Louisville, Tennessee, Missouri and Kansas.
USC is one of the finalists for 2026 OT Gabriel Osenda of Chattanooga ahead of his January 12th announcement. The others are Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and Minnesota.
USC target OT Darian Gray of Richmond reported on his X account Monday night that he plans to post some news about his recruiting on Tuesday.
CB Nyland Green, who was heavily recruited by Clemson for the 2021 class but signed with Georgia, is now transferring from Purdue. He’s a native of Covington, GA. He was a starter at Purdue and a teammate of recent Clemson signee DE Will Heldt. In eight games he had 23 tackles with two tackles lor loss and five pass deflections.
Former Clemson DB Malcolm Greene is transferring from Virginia to Massachusetts.
