#STRecruiting: #Clemson lands 2026 CB Shavar Young

Shavar Young

Clemson Friday gained its second commitment of the 2026 class in CB Shevar Young (5-11 175) of Knoxville. Young visited Clemson on Wednesday, one of several visits he made during the recruiting process.

Young is also a standout receiver, but the Tigers like him as a cornerback. Last season at Brentwood Academy in Nashville, he caught 84 passes for 1130 yards and nine touchdowns. On defense, he made 17 tackles, broke up 11 passes and intercepted one.

Young also made recruiting stops at Miami, Florida, Virginia Tech, Oregon, Notre Dame, Kentucky and Georgia in recent months. He also had offers from South Carolina, Michigan, Colorado, Arkansas, Georgia Tech, Penn State, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Purdue.

Young joins quarterback Tait Reynolds of Arizona as Clemson’s two commitments for the 2026 class.
