CHARLOTTE: UNC has enjoyed some success in Mack Brown’s second turn as head coach in Chapel Hill, NC, including the school’s first Orange Bowl appearance to close the 2020 season and a Coastal Division title in 2022. But there is also a growing frustration due to North Carolina’s inability to capitalize on momentum and finish seasons with a flourish. UNC (8-5, 4-4) has lost four consecutive bowl games and three straight to rival NC State.

Brown thinks he has an elixir for that ailment: Depth. Brown said that new defensive coordinator Geoff Collins, formerly the head coach at Georgia Tech, has instilled a new attitude and is building depth that will pay dividends down the stretch this season.
