CHARLOTTE: Manny Diaz is getting a second chance to win big in the ACC. He spent four seasons at Miami were 21-15 wasn’t good enough to keep him around. After two seasons as the defensive coordinator at Penn State, Diaz was plucked by Duke to replace Mike Elko who left for Texas A&M after two surprisingly successful seasons in Durham. He has to replace one of the ACC’s best quarterbacks in Riley Leonard, and Gaffney’s Grayson Loftis and Texas transfer Maalik Murphy give him a good place to start. There’s some rebuilding to be done on the defense, but Diaz hit the transfer portal hard to fill in those holes.
