Third time the charm for Kiawah as Ocean Course to host 2031 PGA Championship

The PGA Championship is returning to Kiawah Island and the Ocean Course for a third run in 2031. The announcement was made Wednesday morning by the PGA of America and Kiawah Island Golf Resort.

The Ocean Course, which also played host to the 1991 Ryder Cup, held its first PGA Championship in 2012 with Rory McIlroy claiming the second of his four majors. The Championship returned in 2021 with Phil Mickelson claiming the Wannamaker Trophy.

The Ocean Course will be just the ninth course to host three or more PGA Championships.

This year’s PGA Championship will be played at Valhalla in Louisville beginning May 16th. The 2025 PGA will be played at Quail Hollow in Charlotte. The following years will have the tournament in Newtown Square, PA, Frisco, TX, San Francisco, Springfield, NJ, Bethesda, MD, Kiawah Island and Frisco, TX.
