#STRecruiting: Former Greenville High star QB Davis Beville headed to #Gamecocks

QB Davis Deville is transferring to USC from Oklahoma

USC football coach Shane Beamer Wednesday landed a quarterback commitment from the Transfer Portal in former Greenville High standout Davis Beville (6-6 235).  Beville one of the state’s top quarterbacks at Greenville High School passing for 6759 yards and 88 touchdowns for the Red Raiders. He plans to join the Gamecocks as a preferred walk-on.

Beville was a backup at both Pittsburgh and Oklahoma where he spent a combined five seasons redshirting his first year at Pitt in 2019. Last season for the Sooners, He appeared in two games with the Sooners this past season and did not attempt a pass.  For his career, he’s thrown for 339 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. 

Beville’s father Scott was a long-snapper at Clemson.

2023
Has played in two games … has not attempted a pass but rushed three times for seven yards in season opener vs. Arkansas State (9/2) … also saw action vs. West Virginia (11/11).

2022
Played in five games and made one start … made first start as a Sooner vs. Texas (10/8) and completed six passes for 38 yards … entered in second quarter at TCU (10/1) and completed 7 of 16 passes for season-high 50 yards … was 2 for 2 passing for 14 yards and rushed three times for 13 yards at Nebraska (9/17) … also saw action vs. Kent State (9/10) and UTEP (9/3) … had one carry for four yards vs. UTEP.

2021 (AT PITT)
Played in three games for the Panthers … completed 17 of 22 passes (77%) for 207 yards with one touchdown and one interception … most significant action came off the bench in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl against Michigan State when he completed 14 of 18 passes for 149 yards with a touchdown and an interception … completed one pass for 13 yards against New Hampshire (9/25) … completed 2 of 3 passes for 45 yards against UMass (9/4).

2020 (AT PITT)
Appeared in six games … completed 5 of 10 passes for 30 yards … made his collegiate debut against Austin Peay and completed 3 of 5 passes for 13 yards.

2019 (AT PITT)
Redshirted … did not play.

HIGH SCHOOL 
Rated as a four-star recruit as the No. 11 quarterback in the class of 2019 by Rivals out of Greenville (S.C.) High School … ranked as a three-star recruit by 247Sports and ESPN … started for three years and threw for 6,759 yards and 88 touchdowns … led teams to a 25-12 (.676) record and three South Carolina High School League Class AAAA playoff berths … completed  141 of 237 passes (59.5%) his senior season and amassed 2,035 yards and 24 touchdowns … won the Region 1-AAAA championship as a junior … selected to play in the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas all-star game (was game’s leading passer; completed 9 of 16 attempts for 114 yards and a touchdown).

PERSONAL
Enrolled at Pitt in January 2019 and at Oklahoma in June 2022 … father (Scott) was a three-year long snapper for Clemson (1988-90) … graduated from Pitt in April with a degree in marketing … pursuing a Master of Business Administration at OU.
