WR Gage Larvadain of Miami of Ohio commits to USC (Miami of Ohio Athletics)

South Carolina added an 11th prospect from the Transfer Portal Friday night with a public commitment from WR Gage Larvadain (5-10 180) from Miami of Ohio. Larvadain made his decision after wrapping up his official visit.

Some of the other offers to Larvadain once he entered the Portal included Auburn, Miami, Cal, Baylor, Duke, Tulane, Houston, UCF, Michigan State and Troy.

Last season at Miami of Ohio Larvadian caught 42 passes for 679 yards and six touchdowns. He began his career at Southeastern Louisiana where in two seasons he caught 96 passes for 1252 and seven touchdowns.

Larvadain is the third transfer receiver to commit to the Gamecocks who now have five receivers in their class.

  • Played in 13 games
  • Recorded 59 catches for 731 yards and two touchdowns
  • Averaged 25.1 yards per kick return
  • Rushed for 74 yards on 15 carries

2021 (at Southeastern):

  • Played in 13 games, making six starts at wide receiver
  • Southland Conference Freshman of the Year
  • First Lion to win the award since 2008
  • Named All-Southland Conference at both wide receiver (second team) and kick returner (first team)
  • Also earned first team All-Louisiana accolades at return specialist
  • Caught 37 passes for 521 yards and five touchdowns
  • Led the Southland and ranked 16th in FCS with a 26.6 kickoff return average
  • Named Southland and Louisiana Special Teams Player of the Week after tying a school record with a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in a 58-48 victory at Nicholls
  • Also had a 76-yard touchdown reception in the win at the Colonels

High School: 

  • Two-sport standout at Riverside Academy
  • Played quarterback, wide receiver and defensive back on the gridiron for the Rebels
  • Accounted for 2,400 total yards and 33 touchdowns
  • Named the Player of the Year in the New Orleans metro area by Friday Night Football, CrescentCitySports.com and NASH 106.1 FM
  • First team Class 1A All-State basketball player
  • Averaged 27 points, eight rebounds and seven assists on the way to helping his team to the Division IV state semifinals
