#STRecruiting Notebook 12-18

Three days before December National Signing Day and Clemson and USC are hoping to finish the stage of the recruiting campaign with a flourish. The Tigers have several offered prospects with announcements to be made. OG Elyjah Thurmon of Hinesville, GA appears to be a sure thing when he announces on Wednesday. DE Eddrick Houston of Buford, GA made a visit to Clemson Friday before going to Alabama Saturday. He has been committed to Ohio State. LB CJ Kubah-Taylor of Olney, MD made an official visit over the weekend and could make an announcement anytime. OT Mason Wade also made an official visit over the weekend. He has been committed to Duke and is weighing that against the Clemson offer. Tennessee transfer center Addiston Nichols made a one-day visit to Clemson Friday before taking an official visit to Arkansas for the weekend. And according to Paul Strelow of Tiger Illustrated, SAF Joe Wilkinson (6-1 185) of Rome, GA made an official visit to Clemson and was offered by Dabo Swinney. He had been committed to Appalachian State but decommitted publicly Monday. He may wait until Wednesday for his next announcement. Wilkinson also has a highly regarded 2025 teammate, LB Jaeden Harmon, who has a Clemson offer.

Gamecock fans are still waiting on Vanderbilt transfer QB AJ Swann to go public with his declaration to the Gamecocks. Swann visited USC last week and Sunday national reporters stated he planned to join the Gamecock program. But a source this afternoon said Swann may end up at LSU, his mother’s preference.  The Gamecocks also had Texas transfer QB Maalik Murphy in for a visit over the weekend between stops at Duke and Oregon State. And former Arkansas quarterback KJ Jefferson could now come into play for the Gamecocks. He has connections with assistant coaches Justin Stepp and Dowell Loggains. The source also said committed Vanderbilt transfer receiver Jayden McGown may be rethinking things due to a better NIL offer from Boston College. The Gamecocks also await news from Texas Tech OT Monroe Mills who visited over the weekend, Texas A&M transfer DT LT Overton who visited last week before visiting Alabama and WR Debron Gatling of Alpharetta, GA, a former Texas A&M commitment who visited USC for the Kentucky game weekend.

USC offered 2025 SAF Justin Rowe of Asheville, NC.

Former Clemson SAF Andrew Mukuba transferring to Texas. He’s from Austin.
