CCU HC Tim Beck has a lot to smile about lately. His team is coming off a 27-24 victory at Appalachian State last Tuesday, marking Coastal Carolina’s first ever win in Boone. Plus, Beck believes his starting quarterback is figuring things out.

“I had a lot of great quarterbacks, and I used to tell them all the same thing,” Beck communicated. “Your job is to distribute the football. That’s it. That’s your job. On time to the right guy.”

Grayson McCall did a lot of that against the Mountaineers, throwing for a career-high 373 yards on 19-of-28 passing with two touchdowns in the win.

“It’s just starting to become part of the bloodstream,” Beck said, illustrating how McCall and his team are becoming more familiar with his offense. “As we learn and grow in what we’re doing, you’re starting to see that confidence come to play with us offensively.”

Beck sat down with the media on Wednesday to reflect on the App State game and to look ahead to this Saturday’s matchup at Arkansas State. The 7pm ET kickoff will be televised on ESPN+.
