Earlier this week, INF Michael Braswell stunned USC fans by entering the NCAA Transfer Portal. He later announced a transfer to LSU. Friday, Kendall Rogers of D1 Baseball reported Clemson DH and infielder Billy Amick had entered his name in the Portal, an equally shocking development for Clemson fans.
Amick was one of the key reasons Clemson turned around their season and won 21 of their last 22 games going into the NCAA Tournament, including a fur game sweep in the ACC Tournament
In the second half of the season Amick hit .413 with 13 home runs and 63 RBIs. He was named First Team All-ACC and earned several All-American nods, including First Team by Collegiate Baseball.
The Batesburg native was a huge surprise for Clemson this season after batting just .105 in nine games in 2022. He didn’t become a regular until April 1st and played in every game the rest of the way.
