USC added a big offensive lineman prospect earlier in the week in Campbell Vandiver (6-7 265) of Brentwood, TN who accepted a PWO offer from offensive line coach Lonnie Teasley. The Gamecocks appear to be on the verge of adding a second offensive lineman this week as a PWO prospect. Ni Mansell (6-3 305), a transfer from Mercer who is from Anderson and played at Westside High School, visited USC on Monday. Tuesday night he said he has a PWO offer from Teasley, and he is leaning towards accepting that. An announcement could come Thursday. Mansell can play center and guard. He spent the last three seasons with the Bears after signing with them in 2020. After entering the Portal, he picked up offers from Alabama State, Tennessee State and Eastern Kentucky.
DE Jatius Geer (6-6 255) of Syracuse entered the Transfer Portal April 28th and is drawing the attention of some of the USC coaching staff. Geer prepped at Belton-Honea Path. In 13 games last season, he recorded 33 tackles with 6.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks. In his senior season at BHP, Geer had 72 tackles with 40 tackles for loss and 10 sacks.
USC is in the top six with DB Jadan Baugh of Decatur, GA. The others are Georgia Tech, Florida, Arkansas, Louisville and Georgia.
USC offered 2025 WR Taz Williams (6-1 173) of Red Oak, TX, 2025 SAF Sahnye Degraffenreidt (6-1 185) of Atlantic City, NJ and 2025 DE Christian Garrett (6-4 285) of Monroe, GA.
WR Micah Gilbert of Charlotte, who had USC among his final seven schools. committed to Notre Dame.
WR Channing Goodwin of Charlotte has set May 7th for his commitment announcement. He has USC in his final seven, but he’s not been that involved with them in recent months. He’s the son of former Lower Richland, Michigan and NFL OL Jonathan Goodwin.
LB Sammy Brown of Jefferson, GA has his five official visits set with Tennessee May 26th, Clemson June 2nd, Georgia June 9th, Oklahoma June 16th and Ohio State June 23rd.
6-4 Jonathan Powell of Dayton has Clemson in his final six along with Indiana, Xavier, Michigan State, Ohio State and Virginia Tech.
6-4 Austin Swartz, who has Clemson and USC offers, was offered by Notre Dame.
Presbyterian guard 6-4 Jalen Forrest is transferring to Georgia Tech. He’s the son of former Tech star James Forrest. He was named to the Big South All-Freshman team and led the Blue Hose in scoring at 11.3 points per game.
6-10 Quentin Millora-Brown, who played at Rice and Vanderbilt, is transferring to The Citadel. In 123 career games, he’s averaged right at 5 points and 5 rebounds per game. He’s a career 60% shooter from the floor and 50% shooter from the line.
West Florence PG Deuce Hudson will reclassify to 2024 and play a postgraduate season with Combine Academy. He’s the son of former Major Leaguer Orlando Hudson
