The USC women Monday night landed a commitment from Oregon transfer guard 5-9 Te-Hina Paopao. She spent three seasons and played in 77 games with the Ducks. For her career, Paopao averaged 12.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game. She’s a career 42% shooter including 38.6% from three. She has made 86.8% of her foul shots. Paopao was First Team All-Pac 12 in 2021 and 2022, and Honorable Mention this past season. She was a McDonald’s All-American coming out of La Jolla Country Day School and was the 2020 Gatorade Player of the Year in California after averaging 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists per game. She will have two years of eligibility. She gives the Gamecocks four newcomers for the 2023 class.

USC and Clemson target 6-4 Austin Swartz was offered by Maryland.

6-6 DJ Patrick is transferring to Charleston Southern from South Florida. He played in 20 games at USD as a freshman two seasons ago, but only in 4 games this past season due to injuries.

WR Jyron Waiters (5-11 180) of Wilson has made trips this spring to Liberty, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Appalachian State and James Madison. Liberty, Wingate and Citadel have offered. Last season he had 1193 AP yards with 12 touchdowns.

OT Casey Poe of Lindale, TX said Tuesday night he has set official visits to Clemson, Texas Tech, Auburn and Alabama for the first four weekends in June, in that order.

Clemson target CB Corian Gipson said Monday night he’s planning to release his commitment video around June 1st. He was at the Clemson spring game and is scheduled for an official visit with the Tigers June 2nd. He’s also down for OVs to Alabama and Texas, but those are a “we’ll see.”

TE Willie Rodriguez of Covington, KY was just offered by Cincinnati. He said he’s not decided on official visits yet but USC remains in the mix and he “definitely wants to visit there soon.”

Clemson target OT Fletcher Westphal plans to cut his list on April 30th. Clemson was one of his spring visits April 5th. He’s had as short list of Clemson, Auburn, Virginia Tech, Florida, Michigan State, Georgia, Washington, Arkansas, Oregon and Tennessee.

RB Braylen Russell has set official visits with USC June 2nd and Baylor June 9th, and will also visit Tennessee, Arkansas and Texas A&M leading up to his July 14th announcement.

WR Micah Gilbert of Charlotte has set May 2nd for his commitment announcement. His short list is USC, Duke, North Carolina, Pitt, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech and Michigan. He visited USC in March.
