
It’s on to the next top five opponent for the third ranked USC baseball team. After splitting two games with top ranked LSU at home last week, the Gamecocks travel to Nashville this week for a matchup with #4 ranked Vanderbilt. The Commodores currently have a 1.5 game lead on the Gamecocks for the top spot in the SEC East. The Dores are 11-1 in league play, the Gamecocks 9-2.
Last night the Gamecocks defeated Upstate at Founders Park 7-2 to run their record to 29-4. Also last night, Vandy downed North Alabama 14-2 in seven innings and is 27-6 overall. They have won 15 of their last 16 games.
Wednesday afternoon, USC head coach Mark Kingston and Friday night starter Will Sanders met with the media to talk more about the series with the Commodores.
