Forget the “Eye of the Tiger” because Clemson is tapping into a more instinctual aspect of jungle cats. As the Tigers continue spring football practice, assistant head coach and cornerbacks coach Mike Reed sat down with the media to discuss what is fueling his unit and the team.
“The bar and the standard here is high,” Reed told a flock of reporters on Monday. “These guys are hungry. They want to win. They love to compete. It’s very pleasing to see that.”
Reed says his group is especially motivated by the way last season ended with losses to USC and Tennessee.
“The guys that came back, that (end of last year) left a bad taste,” noted Reed. “If we’d have won the national championship, their a*&#s probably would have left. But there’s some unfinished business.”
