



The USC baseball team is 9-0 for the second time in three seasons after an 11-3 win over North Carolina A&T at Founders Park in Columbia. The Gamecocks now hit the road for the first time this season when they open a three game series with Clemson at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. Game two will be at Fluor Field in Greenville and game three at Founders Park
The Gamecocks broke open a 4-3 game with two runs in the seventh and five runs in the eighth. A sac fly and fielder’s choice plated the seven inning runs. In the 8th, Cole Messina had a two-run double, Talmadge LeCroy had an RBI Double and Ethan Perry added a sacrifice fly.
James Hicks and Eli Jones combined on a no-hitter through the first five innings. Nick Proctor allowed the Aggies’ three runs in the seventh inning on a pair of doubles. Three other relivers shut down the Aggies from there. Jones earned his first win of the season.
The Gamecocks, who went into the game leading the nation in home runs with 26, had just one on Tuesday, the fifth of the season by Will McGillis.
