Dillon OT Josiah Thompson (6-7 290) is one of the elite talents in the 2024 class, not just in the state but nationally. His offer list includes the in-state programs along with the national names like Alabama, Notre Dame, Georgia, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Florida State, Miami, Texas A&M, LSU and Michigan State among others.
Thompson said Tuesday five schools standout the most to him at this point. He listed those five in order at USC, Clemson, Georgia, Alabama and Miami. Thompson add the Gamecocks hold a commanding lead on the field right now, like a ten on a scale of ten.
“I’ve been in contact with the Gamecocks since my freshman year,” Thompson said. “I knew I was going be able to fit in with the school. And it’s a lot closer to home for my family and me. Plus, the Coaches are amazing.”
The next step in the process for Thompson are junior day/unofficial visits this month. He will go to Tennessee January 14th, USC January 21st and Clemson January 28th. He added that there’s no timeline on a commitment.
Thompson has visited USC and Clemson in the past and he went to Miami’s spring game last year. He’s also been to Alabama. Thompson also camped last summer at USC and Alabama.
