The shopping season for college football transfers begins on what could be called Manic Monday. December 5th is the day the NCAA established for when current players could enter their name in the Transfer Portal and be contacted by other schools. Let the shopping begin. Three significant members of the Clemson Tigers plans to be in the Portal. Rivals and 247Sports reported quarterback DJ Uiagalelei will put his name in the database while receiver EJ Williams and CB Fred Davis tweeted their intention to do so.
Alabama starting offensive guard Javion Cohen, who originally committed to USC in 2019, is transferring.
Former Dutch Fork WR Elijah Spencer of Charlotte is transferring. This season he had 57 catches for 943 yards and 9 touchdowns.
Dutch Fork RB Jarvis Green put on a show in front of a bevy of college recruiters Saturday afternoon in the 5A State Championship Game. Green rushed for 241 yards and 3 touchdowns and caught a pass for a touchdown in leading the Silver Foxes to the title. Green has been committed to James Madison, and as things stand now, he will sign with them December 21st. Some USC coaches watched Green and Jody Wright talked with him on the field after the game. Otherwise, he’s not heard much from USC. Nor Clemson, which he said has been his dream offer. But Green believes after what he did Saturday, some Power Five offers will come. “I think I made a pretty big statement leaving it all out here and accomplishing what we needed to accomplish, which was to win.” Green recently took an official visit to Appalachian State. He said Virginia Tech, North Carolina and Boston College are three others he has been hearing from. In 13 games this season, Green rushed for 2272 and 33 touchdowns according to stats supplied to MaxPreps.
USC coaches also were on hand Saturday night to watch South Florence QB LaNorris Sellers in the 4A Championship Game. The Gamecocks have offered Sellers who has been committed to Syracuse.
2023 TE Maurice Brown (6-4 230) of Upper Marlboro, MD announced he plans to join USC as a preferred walk-on. Brown is a former Army commitment.
USC target CB Aziah Johnson of Richmond made an official visit to Michigan State over the weekend. He is scheduled for Virginia Tech this weekend and USC December 16th.
USC target DE/TE Nyck Harbor of Washington, DC made an unofficial visit to Maryland Saturday for the Terps basketball game. He is scheduled for an official visit there this coming weekend. He has taken official visits to USC and Michigan and is scheduled for one to Georgia December 16th. He also plans to take an official visit to LSU in January. He won’t sign until February.
2024 WR/FS Braylon Burnside of Starkville, MS named a top 8 of USC, Florida State, Mississippi State, Oregon, Memphis, Ole Miss, Jackson State and Alcorn State.
USC offered 2025 QB KJ Lacey of Saraland, AL.
OT Spencer Fano of Provo, UT, who made an official visit to Clemson late last month, is down to the Tigers, Michigan, Oregon and Utah and will announce Tuesday. Oregon coaches had an in-home visit with Fano over the weekend. Clemson coach Dabo Swinney is expected to make an in-home before Fano announces.
ATH Suderian Harrison of Woodland was scheduled for an official visit to Virginia over the weekend.
2024 WR Bray Staley of Aiken was offered by NC State.
2025 WR Marshall Pritchett, a Charleston native attending school in Georgia, was offered by North Carolina.
