#Clemson remains 5th in AP ranking; #Gamecocks drop out

Freshman receiver Antonio Williams has been a major addition to the Clemson offense (Travis Bell/SIDELINE CAROLINA)

The open week for Clemson did not impact the Tigers’ standing in the AP Top 25 this week. The Tigers remain at #5. Ahead of them are Georgia, Ohio State, Tennessee and Michigan. The Buckeyes and Vols are tied at #2. Georgia received 30 first place votes while Tennessee garnered 18 and Ohio State 15. USC dropped out of the poll from last week’s #25 ranking following the loss to Missouri.

Following Clemson in the top ten are Alabama, TCU, Oregon, Southern Cal and UCLA. The Tigers did lose six points off their total from a week ago. Kansas State was the big gainer this week improving nine positions, and Wake Forest was the biggest loser falling 10 spots.
