South Carolina won the football game Saturday night over Georgia State, and on his conference call with the media Sunday night, Beamer wanted to remind everyone about that. Yes, there were mistakes galore in all phases, including coaching, but his bottom line was they scored a three-touchdown victory over a good Sun Belt team, and no apologies are necessary.
That said, Beamer also noted that his team will have to play much better to defeat Arkansas in Fayetteville Saturday afternoon. The Gamecocks are 7.5 point underdogs in their SEC opener.
As for injuries coming out game one, Beamer identified offensive tackle Jakai Moore and safety RJ Roderick as “questionable” for Arkansas. All others should be good to go, and he’s hopeful of having running back Christian Beal-Smith available for Saturday.
Any insight as to why Sherrod Greene didn’t play at all?
My guess is he wasn’t healthy, he was dealing with an injury during camp as I recall.
