USC head coach Shane Beamer is a former tight ends coach and is a believer in how important the position can be to an offense. He certainly has one of the best tight end rooms in the SEC, if not the country, with returnees Jaheim Bell (when not at RB or WR), Traevon Kenion, Chad Terrell and Jesse Sanders and new arrivals Austin Stogner, Nate Adkins and Zavier Short.
Stogner was a huge addition as a transfer from Oklahoma. He was a 2nd team All-Big 12 selection last season. In three years with the Sooners, he caught 47 passes for 654 yards and 8 touchdowns. Reuniting with former Oklahoma quarterback Spencer Rattler at USC, Stogner is expected to be a major contributor this season.
At the recent USC media day, we had a chance to go one-on-one with Stogner.
