USC football coach did not get the news he wanted to hear Monday afternoon when his top 2023 quarterback target Dylan Lonergan announced a commitment to Alabama. But that disappointment was offset by a call Beamer did receive on Monday afternoon not long after Lonergan made his announcement. Beamer issued one of his “Welcome Home” commitment tweets alert his fans to some good news. “Been on a plane all day but just got a GREAT phone call when I landed!! Let’s Go!!” is how Beamer put it in his tweet. As of Monday night, no recruit had gone public with a commitment announcement connected to Beamer’s tweet.
By our count, there are 22 uncommitted prospects offered by the Gamecocks who have included them on their short list of favorites. Three of them have already set commitment announcement dates for this month…WR Davion Dozier on Wednesday, WR Carmelo Taylor July 25th and OT Oluwatosin Babalade July 31st.
2023 RHP Drew Titsworth (6-4 220) of Frankenmuth, MI, who had been committed to Eric Bakich at Michigan, changed his commitment to Clemson. He becomes the seventh player who played for Bakich at Michigan or who was committed to him there to join him at Clemson.
6-7 Coen Carr of Legacy Early College in Greenville, who has a Clemson offer and is drawing interest from USC, was offered by NC State.
I’ve got 32 uncommitted offers, by my count/spreadsheet. I’ve included anybody I’ve seen with warm/high interest on 247 and On3. Although 7 of those are heavy leans to a different school, at least from what I’ve seen online. So call it 25 players for the time being, that we could potentially land. 9 on Defense and 16 on Offense. A lot of DL and WR’s still on the board.

Yeah I figured that some of them were. That’s just who I’ve gotten from recruiting sites, mostly guys who have “Warm” interest on 247sports. I listed the 7 who are heavy leans to other schools also, but have us on their short list. I’m sure the board in the coaches meeting room looks quite different than what I’ve got, and that some of those guys aren’t actually being recruited anymore.
