Buckley brings plenty of experience to the USC MBB (AUDIO) #Gamecocks

Tim Buckley comes to USC after serving as an assistant at Indiana and UNLV (IU Athletics)

It’s still several months before the USC men’s basketball team takes the floor under first-year head coach Lamont Paris, but that doesn’t mean it has been a quiet offseason. With defections and inclusions via the transfer portal, Carolina’s roster has been somewhat of a revolving door. That’s why it’s nice for the Gamecocks to have an assistant or two that’s seen it all.

Tim Buckley was named the final assistant to Paris’ staff on April 14th and comes to Columbia with a wealth of coaching experience. He joins the Gamecocks after spending the past three seasons on the staff at UNLV. Prior to that, Buckley had stops at Indiana, Marquette, and Iowa as an assistant coach; along with the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves where he served as a scout. Not to mention, head coaching stops at Ball State, Rockford, and Bemidji State.

The former Waubonsee Community College (IL) player recently sat down with SportsTalk to discuss his career and what he’ll bring to the Gamecocks in his new role.
