2021 was a historic football season for the Newberry Wolves. Not only did the squad pick up 10 wins and advance to the second round of the NCAA Division II football playoffs for just the second time in school history. The Wolves also won an outright South Atlantic Conference regular season championship; their first since 2016.
So coming off of a season like that, what can the Wolves do for an encore? The answer to that question started to be revealed as the Wolves conducted spring practice under the direction of SAC “Coach of the Year,” Todd Knight. The Gardner-Webb alum has twice won the conference championship and earned four appearances in the NCAA playoffs during his thirteen years at Newberry.
Shortly following the Wolves spring game, Knight dropped by SportsTalk to recap the 2021 season and to look forward to the upcoming campaign, which kicks off on September 3rd vs. Allen.
