USC head track and field coach Curtis Frye has seen a lot of talent run through his program over the years. But his current women’s relay teams may be the best he’s ever coached. Over the weekend, Carolina completed a sweep of the sprint relay Championship of America titles during the 126th running of the Penn Relays. The Gamecock women won the 4X100-meter and 4X400-meter relays on Saturday after claiming the 4X200-meter event on Friday. It’s the first time in over fifteen years that a women’s program has accomplished that feat. USC broke out the brooms in 2005, as well.
Monday night, Coach Frye joined SportsTalk to recap his team’s exceptional performance at the Penn Relays and to look ahead to the upcoming SEC Outdoor Championships (05/12 — 05/14) in Oxford, Mississippi.
