#STRecruiting Notebook 4-20 (UPDATED)

USC football coach Shane Beamer issued a commitment alert tweet Tuesday night. “Hope you’re having a great night #GamecockNation …Mine just got a whole lot better !!” Beamer wrote in his tweet. As of early Wednesday morning (late Tuesday night), no recruit has gone public with a commitment to the Gamecocks, but that’s not unusual. Beamer does not sit on commitments. He immediately alerts his fanbase and leaves it up to the player to announce the commitment on his own timeline. Currently there are multiple Beamer commitment alerts (three if memory serves) yet to be acknowledged by the corresponding prospect.

One USC target is set to announce his commitment Wednesday at 5:00 PM on his Instagram account. TE Jayvontay Conner (6-4 230) of Kernersville, NC narrowed his list to USC, Virginia Tech, UCF, Maryland, Mississippi State and Florida State. He visited USC for a spring practice earlier in the month. He also visited Virginia Tech, UCF and Florida State.

USC target Zahbari Sandy of Washington, DC announced Wednesday he will make is commitment announcement. on May 8th. He visited USC last week. He also visited for the Clemson game. Sandy has also seen Tennessee, Maryland, Ole Miss, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Cincinnati and Maryland. He has named a top five of USC, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Maryland and West Virginia.

Clemson made the top eight with TE Jelani Thurman along with Ohio State, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Alabama, Auburn, Miami and Michigan State. He was in for the Clemson spring game.

USC in the top six with WR Ayden Williams of Ridgeland, MS. The others are Tennessee, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss and Jackson State.

USC and Clemson target LB Tony Rojas plans to name his fop four this weekend. He made USC and Clemson stops earlier this month as he toured through the Southeast. He plans to visit Penn State for their spring game Saturday.

USC target QB Dylan Lonergan plans to name a top five Friday, and those will get his official visits. USC is expected to be on the short list. He visited for the spring game.

AC Flora OT Ben Holmes committed to Wofford.

Princeton transfer guard Jaelin Llewellyn, who committed to Clemson last week, announced Tuesday night a decommitment from the Tigers following the departure of assistant coaches Antonio Reynolds-Dean to Georgia and Kareem Richardson to NC State. Llewellyn wrote in his tweet that he is still considering Clemson, but due to the recent changes, he had decided to reopen things “to consider the best options.”

Clemson will have 6-5 Wichita State transfer Dexter Dennis in for an official visit starting Wednesday. He is coming off a visit to Indiana.

Former Clemson guard Nick Honor is transferring to Missouri.

Ohio State transfer PG Meechie Johnson revealed on his Instagram Tuesday night that he is on an official visit with USC. He was at Pitt earlier in the week and is expected to visit LSU later in the week.

6-11 Fede Federiko of NE Oklahoma JC and Finland visited USC Tuesday. He averaged 12 points and 9 rebounds per game this season. He’s a former West Virginia commitment and visited Pitt Sunday. First reported by Collyn Taylor of Gamecock Central.

USC target Citadel transfer small forward Hayden Brown visited Georgia Tech Monday and Tuesday. He has also visited USC and Loyola of Chicago. His decision could come at any time.

Another USC target, Alabama transfer 6-5 Juwan Gary, took an official visit to Nebraska Monday and Tuesday. He took an official visit to USC last weekend. Western Kentucky has also made a strong push for the Columbia native. Gary posted on his Instagram Tuesday night that he would be needing a commitment video soon.

Per Adam Zagoria, USC has contacted Georgia Tech transfer 6-7 Khalid Moore.

Coastal Carolina G Ebrima Dibba has entered the transfer portal as a grad transfer.

Per Jeff Goodman, the College of Charleston has landed Southeastern Oklahoma’s Ante Brzovic. The 6-foot-9 Croatian averaged 17.8 points and 11 boards per game this past season as a freshman.

2024 6-4 Cam Scott of Lexington was offered by LSU.

5-5 Buffalo transfer Dyaisha Fair visited USC this week according to Women’s Hoopz. She averaged 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists per game this season.
