#Clemson offense breaks out in 11-2 win over Upstate in Greenville (AUDIO)

Clemson players celebrated 11 runs Tuesday night in win over Upstate (Clemson Athletics)

Clemson had scored a total of 11 runs in their last four games combined prior to Tuesday night’s matchup with Upstate at Fluor Field in Greenville. The Tigers matched that run total against the Spartans in an 11-2 win that snapped a three-game losing streak. The Tigers are 20-12 and Upstate is 18-15.

Max Wagner collected four of the Tigers’ 14 hits including. He also drove in two runs and scored twice. Benjamin Blackwell had three hits, an RBI and scored four times.

The Tigers scored five runs in the fifth to build a 6-0 lead, and that was plenty to support six pitchers who scattered six hits. Billy Barlow started and gave up four of the this and both runs, but only one was earned. Casey Talent (1-0) followed and earned the win striking out three over two innings. Austin Gordon, Rocco Reid, Nick Hoffman and Caden Grice finished up allowing just two hits.

The Tigers return to ACC play Friday night opening a three-game series at Wake Forest.
