Regular season play in the ACC and the SEC concluded Saturday night and now the two leagues are set to stage their tournaments in Brooklyn and Tampa respectively. The ACC Tournament will tip off on Tuesday and conclude Saturday. The SEC Tournament will begin Wednesday and end on Sunday.
Clemson will have to play in one of those games on Tuesday meaning to win the championship the Tigers will need to win five games in five days. They do go in as the second hottest team in the league with a four-game winning streak. Only North Carolina has a longer streak at five. The Tigers are the #10 seed for the tournament and will face #15 NC State at 4:30 on Tuesday. The winner advances to play Virginia Tech at 7:00 PM Wednesday.
ACC Tournament Bracket:
The Gamecocks had a chance to be the 5th seed in the SEC. Alabama and Florida cooperated by losing Saturday, but the Gamecocks lost to Auburn and that put them in a five way tie for fifth with a 9-9 league mark. After the tiebreaker was applied, USC ended up as the 7th seed for the tournament. That puts them into the 6:00 PM Thursday game against Mississippi State. The winner advances to play Tennessee at the same time on Friday.
