#STRecruiting: Transfer running back gives Gamecocks a commitment sweep of weekend visitors

RB Christian Beal-Smith is transferring to USC from Wake Forest

Four official visitors from the NCAA Transfer Portal for USC over the weekend, and now four commitments. Running back Christian Beal-Smith (5-9 190), formerly of Wake Forest, was the last of the four to announce his commitment to Shane Beamer. He did that Monday night shortly before the kickoff of the National Championship Game.

Beal-Smith entered the Portal on January 3rd as a grad transfer after concluding his Wake Forest career with 1871 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns. Tennessee and NC State were two others to get involved with the native of Winston-Salem.

The Gamecocks lost their top two rushers from this season in Kevin Harris and ZaQuandre White. Beal-Smith currently is the only running back in the Gamecocks’ 2022 class and will join Marshawn Lloyd, Juju McDowell and Rashad Amos in the running back room.

Also committing to the Gamecocks from the weekend were DE Terrell Dawkins from NC State, SAF Devonni reed from Central Michigan and WR Antwane Wells of James Madison.

The Gamecocks now count 30 in their 2022 class including signees, commitments and transfers who have to count in the class.
