LB Sherrod Greene announces return to #Gamecocks for 2022

USC football coach Shane Beamer received a major commitment Thursday night, and it had nothing to do with recruiting a high school player or pulling someone from the Transfer Portal. He got a commitment for 2022 from one of his own as LB Sherrod Greene announced on Twitter his plan to return for next season. “Got so much left to give!! I’m not done yet,” is how Greene announced his return on Twitter.

Greene is the most veteran of the Gamecock veterans. He joined the program as a freshman in 2017 and has been hampered by injuries. He was able to play in just three games over the last two seasons.

Over his career, Greene has totaled 137 tackles with 1/2 sack, 1 interception and 4 pass deflections.

  1. Glad to hear it! I don’t understand why some fans want to give him such a hard time. I think he’s a great player. Brad Johnson too. They should make a nice Super Senior LB duo next year. And with guys like Kaba, Blanton, Williams, Fields, Emmanwori, Ware, and Martin-Scott backing them up, I think it should be a pretty deep group. All those guys are capable of making the 2 deep. Oh yea Donovan Westmoreland also, although I think we’ll need him to back up Burch and Strachan at DE.
