Tuesday is decision day for Chapin WR Zavier Short (6-1 181). He plans to announce a final commitment around 6:00 PM on his Twitter page. Short committed to Appalachian State in late June, but USC coach Shane Beamer offered on December 1st and that gave Short something else to think about. He has been weighing his loyalty and opportunities at App State against being at home and playing in the SEC at USC. Short played in the Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Bowl last weekend. For his career at Chapin, he had 217 catches for 3391 yards.
USC target DE James Pearce of Charlotte won’t sign until February per assistant coach and athletics director Montis Lash at Chamber High. He will take officials in January; USC will be among those trips. Tennessee also is a program to watch with him moving forward.
CB Emory Floyd of Powder Springs, GA confirmed his plans Monday to sign with USC Wednesday. Florida had continued to recruit him until the end.
USC offered 2024 DB Zion Ferguson of Loganville, GA.
