White’s walk-off boot saves #Gamecocks at ECU 20-17 (AUDIO)

USC fell behind ECU 6-0 on the game’s first play and never led until the game’s final play. That was a 36-yard field goal by Parker White as time expired that delivered a 20-17 win to Shane Beamer who goes to 2-0 in his young coaching career with his first road victory. It was the sixth game-winning field for Parker’s career at USC.

The Gamecocks fought themselves as well as the Pirates all day. They gave up a 75-yard touchdown pass on the first play of the game, committed three turnovers, including a fumble thru the end zone by receiver Josh Vann that wiped out a score, and had eight penalties, including multiple personal foul infractions. Yet, the defense held tough, and Beamer turned to the running game in the second half figuring they could ground and pound their way to a win. And that they did.
