#Gamecocks draw Virginia in regional opener; PC headed to Nashville (AUDIO)

The 64 team field for the NCAA Baseball Tournament was revealed Monday. USC, which was announced as one of the 16 regional hosts on Sunday night, will be the #2 seed at Founders Park and will play Virginia Friday at noon on ESPN2. Old Dominion comes in as the #1 seed for the regional and the #11 national seed. The Monarchs will face Jacksonville Friday night at 7:00 PM.

The winner of the Columbia regional will play the winner from the TCU regional. The Horned Frogs are the #1 seed there and will play McNeese State Friday. Dallas Baptist will face Oregon State in the other game in Fort Worth.

The Gamecocks will be making their 33rd NCAA Tournament appearance. They last made the tournament in 2018 and reached the Super Regional before losing at Arkansas in three games. They did not make the tournament in 2019, and there was no tournament in 2020.

Presbyterian, which is making its first ever tournament appearance, will be the #4 seed in Nashville and will face Vanderbilt, the #4 national seed, Friday night. Georgia Tech and Indiana State are the other teams in that regional.

The winner of the Nashville regional will face the winner from East Carolina. The Pirates are the #1 seed there and will face Norfolk State on Friday. Maryland and Charlotte are the other teams in that regional.

Presbyterian finished the year with a 22-21 overall record, including an 18-16 mark in the Big South, and earned the Big South Championship with an 8-5 victory over Campbell on Saturday afternoon.
